It is extremely tragic when a patient for whom donations have been raised passes away. When it comes to withdrawing funds in the event that the patient dies, Sumit foundation follows the protocol outlined below. What happens to the cash raised if the patient dies before treatment can begin and no monies have been deposited yet? Donors are first advised of the patient's death and that no monies have been released yet. When the patient's family and hospital confirm that there are no outstanding debts, donors will be advised of the funds available, which they can re-route to another patient or request a refund.
If they are entitled to a refund, they will receive one. The same method applies if they want their donation to go to the original patient's family/next-of-kin.
